Sycamore Dermatology Group was founded in 2016 with a simple idea: patients should not have to choose between clinical expertise, personal attention, and timely access. Midtown is our flagship — the largest location, home to our founding physician, and the site of our on-site Mohs surgery program. We expanded to three locations to reduce wait times, not to create a high-volume, impersonal experience. That same philosophy shapes every visit: direct communication, thoughtful treatment plans, and clear boundaries between medically necessary care and elective cosmetic services.

Board-Certified Expertise
Our physicians are board-certified dermatologists with residencies and fellowships from UCSF, Stanford, Penn, and Mount Sinai.
Same-Week Urgent Visits
Same-week appointments for changing moles, new rashes, and other time-sensitive skin concerns.
Full-Spectrum Care
Medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology — all under one roof, one coordinated team.
On-Site Mohs Surgery
Fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon on-site. No referral to a separate surgical center.
Pediatric Dermatology
Dedicated pediatric program for infants, children, and teens led by Rachel Nakamura, PA-C.
Transparent Recommendations
We explain what works, what the alternatives are, and when no treatment is the right answer.
Cosmetic treatments are never recommended to medical patients. Every recommendation is grounded in clinical judgment, not revenue.
Four providers with distinct clinical specialties — united by the same approach: listen first, be precise, and make sure patients understand their options.
Dr. Nadia Karim, MD, FAAD — Founder & Medical Director
Dermatology residency at UCSF. Mohs surgery fellowship at Stanford. One of a small number of fellowship-trained Mohs surgeons in the Sacramento region.
Patients know her for being direct, thorough, and unhurried. Her philosophy: catch it early, treat it precisely, and make sure the patient understands every step.

From recurring medical visits and preventive skin exams to cosmetic treatments and on-site Mohs surgery — all within one coordinated practice.

New and returning patients can book online or call our Midtown office directly.
Modern, calm, and designed for comfort. Eight exam rooms, two procedure rooms, and easy access from street parking, the shared patient lot, bike racks, and the nearby 16th Street light rail stop.
